Your device will continue to operate without an SD card present as it is only for onboard log storage and data backup, not primary data storage. Data will continue to push to the QuantAQ Cloud without issue.

If your device is reporting a broken, or "unhealthy", µSD card, there are two likely causes:

  1. The µSD card is not installed properly or is missing

  2. The µSD card has become corrupt and cannot be written to

To fix the issue, follow the steps below.

Step 1: Re-seat the µSD card

Turn off the power to your device and check to ensure the µSD card is properly seated. Once re-seated, turn the device back on and wait 10 minutes for the QuantAQ Cloud to reflect the current status. If the "SD" icon in the Device Health card is green, you are good to go. If not, please continue with the following instructions.

Step 2: Diagnose the state of the µSD card

It is possible the µSD card contains a corrupt file or is itself corrupt. Try to read the files by inserting the µSD card into your computer. If the SD card is not recognized by your computer, it is likely corrupt. If you can view the µSD card, delete the most recent data file and log file, which are the most likely to be corrupt and causing the issue. Try re-seating the µSD card and powering on your device. After 10 minutes, check the QuantAQ Cloud platform to see if the error is still being reported. If it is still marked as 'broken', the µSD card needs to be re-formatted or replaced.

Step 3: Reformatting or replacing the µSD card

If your µSD card is still broken, it needs to be re-formatted or replaced. You can try reformatting the µSD card using the SD Association's SD Memory Card Formatter for Windows/Mac. Follow their instructions and reformat the card as FAT32. This will wipe any data still on the card!

If time is tight or you do not want to reformat the existing card, you can replace it with any FAT32-based µSD card. We recommend a 16GB card. If your device is under warranty, contact support and we will ship you a replacement.
