All batteries are shipped at or below 30% charge for safety and regulatory reasons.
Before you deploy your Smart Solar Power System, it is recommended that you fully charge the battery to minimize potential deployment headaches. There are two ways to charge your Smart Solar Power System before deployment:
Charge Outdoors
Install the Smart Solar Power System in an area of high sun exposure per our installation guide.
Plug the Smart Solar Power System into your QuantAQ air quality sensor.
Connect the M12 power cable between the battery and your sensor.
Turn your sensor off. Ensure the status LED on the front of your sensor is off.
β

Verify the battery is charging properly. If it is charging correctly, the green LED at the base of the battery should be blinking slowly, and the amber LED should be on and not blinking.
Charge Using a Wall Charger
Wall chargers are available for sale. Please contact [email protected] if interested.
To charge the battery using a wall charger:
Plug the Smart Solar Power System battery into your QuantAQ air quality sensor.
X-Series Device. For X-Series sensors, plug the M12 power cable from the battery directly into the sensor or into the DC-DC converter cable that was shipped with the Smart Solar Power System.
Legacy Device. For legacy sensors, connect the DC-DC converter cable to the M12 cable from the battery.
The DC-DC converter does not need to be plugged into the sensor for the wall charger to charge the battery.
β
Connect the red and black cables from the wall charger to the same color cables on the battery.
Check that everything is connected as shown in the above images. Plug the wall charger into a 120 VAC wall outlet.
Verify the battery is charging properly. If it is charging correctly, the green LED at the base of the battery should be blinking slowly, and the amber LED should be on and not blinking (see previous video).
